Its long two weeks!

Sorry we haven't been on here in about two weeks. but its been a long two weeks. So a simple run down of it. We got a project in worked and finished a few personal projects here in the Sewing Room. A Family member was involved in a Motorcycle accident, he walked away from it with only a few scraps and bruises. Praise the Lord! oh and labor day weekend came and went by way to fast.

Everyone is doing ok from everything.

Here in the sewing room we are getting ready for the holiday rush that we know will come. Just waiting the other day we saw on Facebook that there are only 15 more Fridays till Christmas. very hard to believe that. We've been working on donations hoping to take those quilts soon off to were they are needed. Yah know quilts speak to you, especially donation ones as you sew them they give you an idea of were some one is waiting for it.  And then there are so many other quilts that we want to get finished and send to their forever home. We will somehow manage to get that accomplished.

Currently I am cutting up the T-shirt left overs to be made into donation quilts with other donated fabric that we have received. let me tell you, You might not think that there is much fabric in a shirt but there is tons of it. We plan to donate the extra fabric T-shirt square quilts to the homeless shelter or to a veterans group.

If you need a quilt top turned into a quilt or have too many special T-shirts that you can't part with let us make a quilt for you. We work with almost every fabric textile so before giving up just give us a call.  We want to help you!

Hurricane Relief

Friends: Texas has been hard hit by the hurricane.  We at C & D would like to do our part with your help.  I, Cynthia (owner) am willing to donate the longarm quilting services for any quilt tops sent to us for the victim relief.  We will need backing materials and batting to go with the tops.  I am hoping that all of our friends will be willing to help us help others. Thank you.

School started, Business is still going

Hi Everyone, we hope that the back to school season is going well for everyone.

Cynthia is back at school and ready for the students ( they start on Monday at her district.) While Victoria has started some fun learning activities for her son. So while the learning is going strong already we noticed our calendar earlier this week. We only have a few months and it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas time.  If you look carefully the decorations for the holidays are already out in the stores most just have the Halloween stuff out but I have caught Christmas Ornaments and a few Thanksgiving things here and there. Scary how the stores are already pushing us in that direction.

But on that note we also want to let you know if your wanting a quilt made for a gift for Christmas its time to get those orders in. While we are talented and can get a lot done between now and then. It still takes time for us to make a quilt and get it back to you.

So are you wondering what you should do.  Well grab a beloved ones T-shirts and bring them in and well make a wonderful T-shirt quilt for them. It is supposed to get cold around here this winter according to the Farmers Almanac. Or grab those jeans she just hasn't been able to throw out but she can't wear them in public now because they are so worn. We can make a beautiful new purse for her.

So get to thinking about what you want to give for the holidays and then give us a call so we can help you get it done.

End of Summer

Hello:  It is time for me to start Teaching again. Summer is over. I will continue to quilt for my existing clients and new ones I have yet to meet.

We at C & D Creations will be gearing up for Holiday quilts. We have a calendar of quilting slots that are open for Holiday delivery.

Remember to think about those who will be in need this Holiday season.

We just finished one for American Heroes and a child's quilt for Shriner's Hospital in Fort Worth.  Pictures will be posted soon.

We will be making a prayer quilt for a young man that was severely injured last week in an accident. A Prayer Quilt is one with lots of light colored pieces for loved ones and friends to write on in order to leave prayers, thoughts of love and scriptures for the person receiving the quilt. These quilts are able to wrap the loved one in the love of everyone at once during a time when they need it most.

I find that I am so incredibly blessed to be doing this business of helping others to preserve their memories and to make new ones. I get to hug every person for whom I make or finish a quilt. Such a wonderful business.

The Frustrations of Monday.

So its Monday and of course things don't want to work. Go Figure right? Well it'll be ok I'm just going to take a brake write to who ever is reading this out there and then go find a different project to work on.

Today's main frustration of the website building is that while everything says I've got full signal i must not because i can sit and wait and sit and wait. Pictures just aren't loading today. Gets to me because I know that ya'll would rather see a picture of what I'm talking about than read about it. Oh well It'll be ok.

The other frustration learning what all needs to be done so that Google will find us and show us off to the people of the internet. I'll get it there I promise.

In the mean time. I got to see my husband this last weekend. That was fantastic he's doing good in the army. And Konnor loved seeing His daddy. Which That quilt that I was finishing up last week was for him. All nice and orange but not Halloweeny.

Cynthia has gotten a Edge to Edge quilt in that will go up on the frame tomorrow, She finished this Costume Jacket for her husband to go to work in this fall. Looks Great. And finishing up a few donation squares for the granbury quilt guild.  After all of that we will see what other things this week brings us.

Give us a call if you have a project that you want to get done.

Just finished a special project

Hello there! Today I finished a very special quilt. It was the quilt I started for my Daughter's wedding gift 2 years ago. Personal projects get put off sometimes. Ha Ha.

I got the idea from "Less Than Traditional" pattern book 2.  I loved the idea of trying my hand at circles for a quilt.  But I am never quite able to leave a project simple.  I always feel like I need to put my personal stamp on it. I wanted to do 3 different size circles in one quilt.  A lot of people told me that that could not be done and that if I did it would not turn out well.  Again I say ha ha.

I hope you like what I have shown you. remember that with planning a quilter is able to accomplish anything that can imagine.  Have fun quilting.  Share your special projects with us. we love all quilts.  Have a good day.

I graduated the circles in size. therefore the squares graduated in size in increments of three. The front looks like a Cathedral Windows.

By carefully placing the colors. The back has a heart in the center.

My first blog post!

Here we go. I LOVE TO MAKE AND OR FINISH QUILTS FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS. I am not yelling, just sharing my excitement and passion for turning fabric into cuddly, lovey quilts. When customers bring their quilts tops to finish for them, I know that they have put a bit of themselves and their hearts into that quilt top. I treat them as treasures.

When people bring me their beloved memories in the form of t-shirts, I know that they have really trusted me with something special.

Some customers have lost someone very special in their lives and need to be able to get a metaphorical hug from that special someone.  I take their pictures, bits of clothing or a combination, and turn them into a quilt with documentation tag so that they will always be able to have those memories with them.

I love hearing the stories, seeing the smiles and sometimes the tears that come with all of my customer's memories.  Let me help you wrap yourself in memories.
